Botanical Christmas Ornaments

Discover the wonderful technique of embossing florals and leaves into clay and make a set of 4 Christmas themed hanging ornaments for decorating your tree or as a handmade gift for a loved one. We will roll out the clay, cut out some festive shapes and press the plants into the clay; revealing a beautiful pattern. We will then paint and add any other decoration with coloured slips. No experience needed—just bring your creativity, and I will guide you step-by-step to create your very own handmade pieces. Once they have had their first firing at a later date, I will apply a transparent glossy glaze to your pieces. Metal hanging hooks and ribbons are included. If you would like to bring any cutters, florals or tools with you, you're more than welcome. We will create a set of 4 hanging ornaments in the 2 hour session, leading with your creativity within a small class (up to a maximum of 4 people). Any extras made that you want to fire are £3 per piece. Once they have had their final firing I will arrange collection or postage. Aprons are provided however wear clothes you don't mind getting clay on (it will wash out). Please note it may take up to 6-8 weeks (around the first two weeks of December) for your pieces to be ready for collection/postage. Ages 13+ (Teens 13-16 must be accompanied by an adult) All pottery classes are based in my Pottery studio near Malpas, Cheshire.
